Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SCADA Developer / Subject Matter Expert (SME) with strong hands-on expertise in industrial automation and SCADA system implementations. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable SCADA solutions across platforms such as Ingenia, Honeywell, and open-source technologies.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering 5+ end-to-end SCADA implementations, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security of industrial control systems.
Key Responsibilities
SCADA Engineering & Architecture
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable SCADA systems and HMI applications
- Architect end-to-end solutions integrating field devices, PLCs, and SCADA platforms
- Implement high-performance visualization systems following industry standards
- Optimize system performance, availability, and redundancy
System Integration & Implementation
- Integrate SCADA systems with PLC/DCS using tools like Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000
- Configure communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, and Profinet
- Execute FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing), SAT, and on-site commissioning
- Lead and deliver 5+ full-cycle SCADA implementations
Industrial Data & Processing
- Handle real-time and historical industrial data acquisition
- Configure historians, alarms, and event management systems
- Ensure efficient data logging, reporting, and visualization
Platform & Technology Expertise
- Work on SCADA platforms including Honeywell Experion PKS, Ignition, and open-source SCADA frameworks
- Develop scripts using Python / VBScript for automation and customization
- Manage database integrations (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams
- Act as SME and provide technical guidance to junior engineers
- Troubleshoot complex plant-level issues across SCADA, PLC, and networks
- Support client interactions and technical discussions
Required Skills
- Strong experience in SCADA system design and architecture
- Hands-on experience with platforms from Ingenisa, Honeywell, and open-source ecosystems
- Expertise in industrial communication protocols (OPC UA, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet)
- Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA integration
- Experience with alarm management, historian systems, and HMI design
- Strong troubleshooting and commissioning experience
Good to Have
- Certifications in SCADA / DCS platforms (Honeywell / Ignition / Siemens, etc.)
- Experience with IIoT, MQTT, or cloud integration
- Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity practices
- Exposure to industries like Oil & Gas, Power, Water Treatment, Manufacturing
